OzerOzer

The 36 questions to fall in love.

These 36 questions come from Arthur Aron’s 1997 study: a climb in intimacy, from light talk to vulnerable sharing, then four minutes of eye contact. They guarantee nothing — they speed up knowing each other. Play them here, taking turns.

The 36 questions, in order

Take turns, out loud. One question, two answers, then the next. At the end: four minutes of eye contact.

How to play them (and not waste them)

Keep the order. The first questions are easy on purpose: they build safety. Jumping to the intimate ones burns the effect.

Each answers out loud. No phones, no “later”. At the end, four minutes of silence, eyes on eyes, is part of the protocol — odd as it feels.

If you want to continue tomorrow, Ozer keeps the ritual: daily question, quizzes, compatibility test. The 36 questions are one evening. The app is the sequel.

What the study says — and what it does not

Aron showed that gradual self-disclosure brings two strangers closer faster than small talk. It is not a spell: it is a frame of attention.

It also works in an existing couple. You are no longer strangers, but you often stopped telling each other. The 36 questions reopen that, with no therapist in the room.

The protocol

  • 36 questions, 3 sets

Increasingly intimate. Do not shuffle the order.

  • Take turns

One question, two answers. Then the next.

  • 4 minutes of eye contact

After the last question. No talking.

  • Then Ozer

Quizzes, test, games for two — so it does not stop at one night.

Common questions

From a 1997 study by psychologist Arthur Aron and colleagues. The gradual self-disclosure protocol became a widely searched couple ritual.
